inSupply Health is headquartered in Nairobi, with an office in Dar es Salaam and is affiliated with JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI). We are pioneers in innovative approaches by taking proven methodologies from the commercial sector and adapting them to the context, but also by co-creating solutions with our customers so that they can take ownership, implement and continuously improve their systems of independently over the long term.

Insight:

inSupply is looking for a Senior Analyst-Supply Chain, based in Nairobi and willing to travel to the region. The candidate will play an important role in the supply chain in the implementation of projects, help generate new business for the organization, manage teams, relationships with customers and partners and provide administrative support and management as needed. He/she will work under the guidance and supervision of the CEO or designate of inSupply Health. Our ideal candidate will be a flexible and adaptive thinker who is self-directed and self-directed, team-oriented with a demonstrated ability to build relationships and partnerships, and who seeks strong and creative solutions to problems. S/he has a strong supply chain and program background, demonstrated implementation experience, affinity for data and analytics, and puts users at the center of the solutions designed.

Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work independently to produce quality deliverables, manage work plans, teams and clients, taking on various roles as needed for new and existing projects. Roles can vary widely and range from very technical to coordination and management. Senior Analysts play multiple roles simultaneously depending on the project portfolio and inSupply’s needs
  • Work collaboratively, influence and build relationships with customers and partners, including government institutions, non-governmental organizations, donors and others to articulate their supply chain issues, collaboratively develop solutions and approaches to their implementation, execute activities and monitor performance.
  • Play a lead role in the development and implementation of supply chain solutions, improvement plans and in performing or conducting quality assurance for deliverables as required. Monitor and ensure accountability for timely completion of deliverables.
  • Participate in routine technical calls and meetings with the team. Proactively and regularly communicate and coordinate with team members on the progress of project activities and provide detailed notes of all key stakeholder meetings. Regularly communicate and disseminate information and reports to relevant stakeholders
  • Engage and foster a working culture to foster innovation and continuous improvement, including integration of HCD, IQ, adaptive learning and other relevant approaches to test and refine tools, methodologies and strategies to guide our efforts to strengthen and improve the supply chain
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to peers and junior staff
  • Develop SOPs, curricula, and conduct and/or facilitate training to build capacity of others in various aspects of the supply chain
  • Apply creative approaches to partner and customer engagement and support to help build a customer/client-centric reputation and brand
  • Serve as a representative of inSupply Health, including participation in working groups and providing key links with partners in the field to ensure support and sustainability. Give and attend debriefings and seminars as a project representative, participate in conferences, report key information to other project staff
  • Participate in and lead new business development opportunities including marketing of inSupply Health to expand our customer base, generate demand for our services, develop content for presentations, concept notes and proposals, and proactively identify opportunities for relevant regional partnerships, technical assistance and funding
  • Support the documentation of processes, successes, experiences and sharing of lessons learned within the project and ensure their dissemination
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the inSupply brand and progressively master the skills and characteristics intrinsic to our culture
  • Travel to the country of assignment and the region to guide and support the implementation of project and organizational objectives.

Qualifications required:

Education:

  • A master’s degree in a health-related field. Pharmacy degree or supply chain degree or certification highly desirable.

Live:

  • At least five years of experience in the field of global health or development, with at least three years of experience in health supply chain management and/or pharmaceutical management. Previous experience supporting immunization supply chains and cold chain equipment is highly desirable.
  • Experience in theory and practice of healthcare supply chain management skills, including forecasting and quantification, supply chain assessments, designing or building eLMIS, systems inventory management and storage and distribution solutions, is required.
  • Experience in building relationships with Ministry of Health in Kenya required.
  • Experience with the international donor community, including bilateral and multilateral donor agencies and private foundations.
  • A proven ability to work in a team but to manage own time and results, and to be a proactive and clear communicator.
  • Ability to work in a diverse team, be flexible, adaptable, creative
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation and organizational skills (analysis and problem solving)
  • Ability to travel 40% to 50% of the time, within Kenya, regionally and internationally.
  • Ability to work comfortably in MS Office package, Google suite and other software and technology tools.
  • Fluent English.

Preferred and Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience supporting family planning, primary health and community health programs is highly desirable.
  • Experience in building partnerships is highly desirable. Experience working in counties or other countries in the region is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in French is highly desirable.
