Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center last week received a permit for a parking / garage, according to records from the Lafayette Consolidated Government Permit Office.

The renovation permit indicates that the parking area would be at 101 Pasa Place. Construction is valued at over $ 13.1 million.

When Ochsner Health bought Lafayette General in 2020, Ochsner said he would invest nearly $ 100 million in the medical center.

The funds are expected to be used to build a new six-story inpatient tower, adding 48 new adult beds. The project will also expand services to women, adding 23 new mother / baby beds and 15 NICU beds.

The tower will also have three floors prepared for future growth, which would include 72 additional beds.

Money has also been set aside for a new parking lot with 550 parking spaces for patients and visitors.
