A beautiful spring day on Tuesday was the perfect backdrop for Sugar Drop to welcome members of Williamson, Inc. to celebrate its owner’s fifth birthday and a long-awaited ribbon cutting at its new location on Franklin Road.
Owner Brooke O’Dell welcomed the large crowd that was in attendance and thanked the chamber for their support.
“We’ve done a lot in five years, including rebranding, growing, relocating, expanding, to name a few,” she said.
Sugar Drop is a full-service bakery that offers one-stop shopping for party supplies and sweets. It includes a café area and a private room for classes and events.
The name “Sugar Drop” has been around locally for over 50 years. It first opened its doors behind Judge Beans in Brentwood, and five years ago O’Dell bought the business and began to rebrand and expand.
In 2020 the new location on Franklin Road in Franklin was purchased and opened in October of that year.
“There is no corporate structure like ours in the world that has combined shopping, events and a bakery under one roof,” O’Dell said. “We support our local school system through cookie fundraisers and partner with various nonprofits throughout the year for classes and events.
“You can walk in to feel like a kid in a candy store and walk away with a high sugar. From gourmet milkshakes, local coffee and century-old family recipes to glittering floors and candy chandeliers, Sugar Drop is unlike any other business.
One thing O’Dell is particularly proud of is partnering with other women business owners in the community. Many products offered come from local businesses and farms.
A full list of services, including camps, classes and more, is available on the Sugar Drop website at www.sugardrop.com.
Sugar Drop’s new location is at 574 Franklin Road, Suite 110, Franklin, across from the Urban Market and Sopapillas.
