Kochi: In the context of the Thrikkakara by-election, the top Congress leader, KV Thomas, believed that the main discussion before the elections would be development. He asked why the Leader of the Opposition and the Chief Minister, who could meet for the Iftar gathering, could not combine for the K-Rail.
The metro and waterways of the Vyttila hub are the aspirations of the people of Thrikkakara. As a developing city, many issues need to be addressed in Thrikkakara. Therefore, development-oriented politics will be a primary talking point for the by-election here, KV Thomas said.
KV Thomas is of the opinion that development should not be hindered for political reasons. A good lifestyle and the progress of the nation and the state should not be questioned. Thomas said he took the same position in the case of Cochin International Airport and Kochi Metro.
Asked about his opinion on the party’s candidate for the Thrikkakara by-election, KV Thomas replied that his opinions and suggestions were already open to the public. He said he had a special connection with the people there as his grandmother’s residence is in Kaloor. Many of his relatives, friends, teachers and students reside here and he would share his opinions with them.
Following his participation in a seminar at the CPM party congress, KV Thomas had been dismissed by the Congress from all official positions in the KPCC.
