LETHBRIDGE, Alta. – No injuries were reported, but damage estimates are high following a fire early Saturday at a Lethbridge business.

At approximately 3:08 a.m., crews responded to a fully involved fire at Lafarge Canada (530 – 9 Ave. N). Crews from five stations in the city of Lethbridge arrived on the scene to find the large warehouse completely engulfed, with flames coming from most of the roof. Strong gusts of wind were blowing smoke and embers to the east of the structure and several nearby trees were also on fire.

The City of Lethbridge noted that crews were “hindered by the design of the building, as well as high winds,” but they managed to bring the fire under control within hours.
